The Center for Population Health (CPH) is working with local church leaders to launch a Health Ministry Initiative.

“As we look at areas in our community where folks gather together, we recognize the opportunity to work collaboratively with our faith-based organizations to bring education and resource information to members of the congregations in order to positively impact their health and lives,” said CPH Executive Director Jeannine McMillan.

A Health Minister is an individual, or individuals, designated by the church’s pastor, priest, or leader as someone who will provide health and human services information to the congregation. Parishioners will provide feedback about resources and health information they would like to learn more about to the Health Minister.

The Health Minister will meet with CPH to discuss additional resources or health-related information their congregations are needing.

The initiative is completely free and open to churches of any denomination or religion in Cambria and Somerset counties.
